Swims

Find your favorite swim around the lake

Each swim is designed for different fishing styles, so you can choose the experience that suits you best.

Swim 1

Spot 1

Swim 1 is the lake's smallest swim, set right beside the parking area and next to the trout nursery pond. Its key water is the southern margin and the right-hand corner toward Swim 6, where carp often patrol the edges in sunny conditions. It is best fished when Swims 2 and 6 are free, as those neighboring angles overlap much of its natural water.

Swim 2

Spot 2

Swim 2 is the lake's largest swim and comfortably fishes two anglers thanks to two separate casting lanes. You can work your own reed-lined margin or fish out over productive 4 and 6 metre depths toward Swims 3, 5, and 6. It is one of the strongest choices for summer and autumn sessions.

Swim 3

Spot 3

Together with Swim 4, Swim 3 is one of the lake's most scenic areas with a full view across the water. It offers productive edge fishing along trees and reeds on both sides, plus open-water options toward Swims 5 and 6 in 4 to 6 metres of depth. Weed-line fishing is especially effective in summer and autumn, while the margins shine in spring.

Swim 4

Spot 4

Swim 4 is a small gem that is often overlooked, tucked away in a quiet woodland setting. It gives access to a shallow bay where fish regularly move onto water of around 2 metres, especially in warmer periods. In spring the margins and the near bank by the large tree and reeds are key, while summer and autumn fishing usually focuses on the far margin and the channel.

Swim 5

Spot 5

Swim 5 is probably the lake's most popular choice because it opens up a large part of the water and the big weed beds that hold many of the fish. This is a classic structure-fishing swim where accurate work along the edges and into holes in the weed is the main approach. It suits anglers who like staying close to the fish-holding features.

Swim 6

Spot 6

Like Swim 5, Swim 6 gives access to the large weed beds, but it also offers more of the lake's deeper water. That makes it a more varied option when fish move between cover and depth during the day. The rear space is shorter because of the slope behind the swim, so it is less suited to two anglers or larger bivvy setups.

  • Never place carp directly on the ground or dry surfaces.
  • Keep time out of water to an absolute minimum during weighing and photos.
  • Use fish-safe antiseptic on hook wounds when needed before release.
  • Release fish calmly at the water edge and support it until it swims away strongly.
